Macro snowflakes with a mirrorless camera

February 6, 2014

Sam Javanrouh, the man behind Daily Dose of Imagery (probably the greatest photoblog in history, now discontinued after 10 years) put up some incredible macro photographs of snowflakes. He also includes a brief behind-the-scenes look at his setup: a mirrorless Panasonic GH3 with a Lumix 100-300mm, plus a 50mm attached to it backwards. The scene was lit with a small LED light on what looks like a GorillaPod. All-in-all, an awesome little setup, and the pictures are fantastic. Be sure to check out the video at the bottom of his post as well.
