Only a Few Can Multitask

They’re called “supertaskers,” according to this study (the article was published back in 2010. Somehow I missed it.) Most people suck at multitasking; you know this, I know this, and yes, it’s tragic and very inefficient. They ran people through a multitasking simulator:

By comparison, the supertaskers “were completely unimpaired,” Mr. Strayer said. The study called them “rare but intriguing individuals with extraordinary multitasking ability.”
