So let’s ignore the many blunt ironies and lack of professionalism on Microsoft’s part and focus on one fact: If you have a modern laptop and reside outside of the United States, not only is pirating Windows 8 your cheaper, simpler, and faster option, it’s your only option.
The Typist, who lives in Israel, writes about his way-too-difficult experience trying to legitimately purchase and install the Windows 8 operating system. I’m honestly surprised that this hasn’t blown up around the Internet (if it has, I haven’t seen it.) Turns out, you can’t download Windows 8 from the Microsoft website if you live outside the United States. Huh?
